Right next to the Grauer Ort Fortress is Abbenflether Beach. The long, gently sloping entry into the water makes it a pleasant way to cool off your feet as you stroll along the long beach.

Flanked by the greenery of the dike, the walls and aqueducts of the Grauer Ort Fortress, and offering a view of the other bank of the Elbe, Abbenflether Beach provides a beach experience with a unique backdrop.

The white sandy beach invites you to sunbathe and relax, while the surrounding area beckons you to discover and explore. A visit to this beach is therefore an experience for the whole family.

Since the beach isn’t as well-known among visitors, there are usually few people there, making it almost an insider’s tip along the Elbe—its quiet and private atmosphere offers a welcome break from the stress of everyday life.

Der Elbstrand Abbenfleth liegt nahe der Festung Grauerort am Rande der Siedlung Abbenfleth. Von Stade aus führt die Freiburger Straße stadtauswärts. An der nächsten Kreuzung geht es nach links. Dem Obstmarschenweg (L111) wird bis nach Abbenfleth gefolgt. Die Anfahrt erfolgt nicht durch den Ort, sondern eine Straße weiter. Von dort aus kann einfach der Beschilderung zur Festung Grauerort gefolgt werden. Hinter der Festung liegt der Strand.
