The Pangaea exhibition features tens of thousands of artifacts spanning 600 million years of Earth’s history, including fossils, bone specimens, and fascinating finds from the age of the dinosaurs. What makes this museum special is that visitors are allowed to touch anything that isn’t behind glass. This makes the Pangaea Museum especially exciting for families with children, school classes, and youth groups.
Artifacts from all over the world are found among the exhibits, though most come from Germany. These artifacts and the stories they tell bring the history of evolution to life. In addition to saber-toothed tigers and dinosaurs, there is a large collection of amber, some of which was even found on the beach at Abbenfleth, right outside the museum’s door.

- Die Ausstellung Pangaea liegt in der Festung Grauerort. Die Festung liegt am Rande der Siedlung Abbenfleth direkt an der Elbe. Von Stade aus führt die Freiburger Straße stadtauswärts. An der nächsten Kreuzung geht es nach links. Der Obstmarschenweg (L111) wird bis nach Abbenfleth gefolgt. Die Anfahrt erfolgt nicht durch den Ort, sondern eine Straße weiter. Von dort aus kann einfach der Beschilderung zur Festung Grauerort gefolgt werden.
Ausreichend Parkflächen befinden sich direkt vor dem Eingang der Festung. Contact person
