Fliegerdeich
The Fliederdeich is a relic of a former naval air base, the heart of the southern waterfront of the city. The historic Fliegerdeich building, which is a listed building, was once used by naval officers as a casino. Today it has been converted into the Fliegerdeichhotel.
Biplane seaplanes regularly took off and landed at the Fliegerdeich. The landing permit is still in place today.
The Fliegerdeich offers a perfect view over the Jade Bay and a beautiful place to sleep with a sea view for campers with caravans. The total of 54 pitches are subject to a charge (€24 for 24 hours).
