The guided family mudflat hike focuses on the four to eight-year-old participants. The tours are a little shorter and don't go as "far" into the mudflats. Small games and hands-on activities for the little ones determine the program here: searching for and sorting beach finds, netting in water holes and having a crab race, for example.

Tickets for the mudflat hike are only available in advance.
In cooler weather, remember to wear sturdy shoes or rubber boots and weatherproof clothing. If you have sensitive feet, we generally recommend wearing wading/water shoes. You can buy so-called "beachies" at our tourist information office. It is also advisable to take something to drink with you.
The family mudflat walks start at Naturstrand Kap Jakob, Schultheiß-Gerhard-Schneider-Weg / Sandstrand.

Wir möchten auch mobilitätseingeschränkten Menschen ermöglichen, das Wattenmeer hautnah zu erleben. Das unmotorisiertes Wattmobil kann aufgrund seiner großen Räder ideal über den Schlickboden geschoben werden und sogar kleinere Hindernisse überwinden. Das Wattmobil kann nicht aus eigener Kraft bewegt werden, es bedarf einer helfenden Hand, die das Wattmobil schiebt.

Entdecke das Watt - Geführte Wattwanderung im Nordseebad Otterndorf
Wer noch mehr Informationen über das Watt und den Deich haben möchte, sollte an der geführten "Entdecke das Watt" Wattwanderung teilnehmen. Hier erfahrt ihr z.B. Interessantes über das Otterndorfer Schöpfwerk oder auch warum der Deich so wichtig ist. Auch hierbei wird natürlich auf die teilnehmenden Kinder eingegangen und Strandfunde werden begutachtet, doch der Fokus liegt hier eben nicht auf den Familien mit kleinen Kindern, sondern auf einem super Erlebnis für alle Teilnehmer:innen. Die Tickets für die Wattwanderung sind nur im Vorverkauf erhältlich.
