At the Klimahaus Bremerhaven, you’ll embark on an extraordinary journey along the 8th meridian, around the world and through a wide variety of climate zones.

From the freezing cold of Antarctica to the tropical heat of Cameroon, you’ll experience just how profoundly temperature, humidity, and wind shape living conditions on our planet. Each station tells the story of people whose daily lives are directly shaped by the climate, making global connections tangible and experiential.

Interactive exhibits, multimedia installations, and elaborately designed sets allow you to immerse yourself in the fascinating facets of our Earth.

As a year-round destination, the Klimahaus is ideal for explorers of all ages, families, and school groups. The new permanent exhibition “WEATHER EXTREMES” brings spectacular weather phenomena to life in a striking way, featuring 360-degree displays and authentic accounts from people who have experienced these events firsthand.

Especially for school groups

With your class, a visit to Klimahaus Bremerhaven becomes an exciting journey around the world along the eighth meridian. Together, you’ll traverse five continents and explore nine locations, each with its own unique climate zones—from freezing cold to tropical heat. Along the way, you’ll meet people from all over the world and learn how the climate shapes their daily lives.

Under the motto “Discover, Experience, and Learn,” you’ll immerse all your senses in the topics of climate, weather, and climate change. Interactive experiences foster an understanding of global interconnections and encourage you to take responsibility for the environment. The experience is complemented by a wide range of educational programs for all age groups, as well as hands-on activities such as sustainable cooking in the in-house cooking school. This makes the Klimahaus a vibrant learning environment that conveys knowledge in an impressive and lasting way.

Information on Discounts:

Eligible for Discounts:
Ages 14 to 17, school students, college students, FÖJ participants, apprentices, BFD participants, people with disabilities (GdB 50 or higher), and journalists with a press pass. Proof of eligibility for a discount must be presented upon entry.

Children:
Ages 4 to 13. Children up to and including age 13 may only visit the Klimahaus when accompanied by an adult supervisor.

Toddlers:
Children under age 4 receive free admission.

If the severe disability ID card (B or H) contains the appropriate notation, the companion of a person with a disability (GdB 50 or higher) receives free admission.

Afternoon Tickets:
Valid from 3:00 p.m.

Annual Passes:
The annual pass grants admission for one year to the exhibitions “Journey,” “Perspectives,” “World Future Lab,” and other special exhibitions that are free of charge. Exhibitions with an additional fee, such as “Weather Extremes,” are not included. The annual pass is generally non-transferable. Transferring it to third parties is prohibited and will be reported to the authorities.

Group tickets (15 or more people):
Bookable up to 14 days before the visit. If the number of participants changes, please notify info@klimahaus-bremerhaven.de. Group rates are available only to registered groups, and the booking is not binding until confirmed in writing by the Klimahaus.

Weather Extremes (Special Exhibition):
A visit to the “Weather Extremes” exhibition may cause some people to experience dizziness, nausea, or anxiety. The exhibition is recommended for visitors ages 6 and up.

“Weather Extremes” can only be booked in combination with another ticket. Admission to “Weather Extremes” is not included in the annual pass.

Elevators
All exhibition rooms are accessible by elevator. The elevators feature voice announcements.

Exhibition Rooms
Some rooms and pathways are heavily darkened for exhibition design purposes.

Assistance Dogs
Trained assistance dogs are permitted.

Accessible Pathways
More than 90% of the pathways in the exhibition are accessible and therefore suitable for visitors with strollers and people with limited mobility.
 
Entrance Hall
The entrance hall has two elevators that take visitors to the first level, where the exhibition entrances are located, and to the rooftop terrace.

Admission
Companions of people with severe disabilities (GdB 50 or higher) receive free admission if the corresponding notation (B) is entered on the disability ID card.

First Aid
A well-equipped first-aid room is located on the ground floor.

Guided Tours
Guided tours for blind and visually impaired people are available upon request.

Coat Check
Ground-level lockers for luggage are located in the Klimahaus foyer.

Wheelchair/Walker Rental
A wheelchair is available free of charge if needed. Reservations can be made by phone at +49 471 9020300.

Parking
There is a parking space in the “Havenwelten” underground parking garage. The entrance to the Klimahaus is accessible via an elevator.

Food and Beverage
Not all seating areas are wheelchair-accessible.

There are several seating areas within the exhibition. They are often integrated into the exhibition design.

Restrooms
All restroom areas also feature accessible facilities.
