Wassermühle Himmelpforten - Wehbers Mühle

Wehber’s Mill in Himmelpforten is a historic complex consisting of a windmill and a watermill. As a landmark of the community, it is located directly on the Lower Saxony Mill Route. The history begins in 1653 with the watermill, which was moved to its current location at the weir in 1739.

The four-story windmill was built in 1871 as a gallery-style Dutch windmill. Its adjustable louvered sails are a distinctive feature. Historical milling techniques and preserved architectural elements reflect the mill’s long tradition.

Today, the complex houses a garden and home improvement market, a mill shop offering regional products, and a restaurant in the mill tower. Guests can enjoy country-style cuisine with a view. Parts of the mill are open to the public, and historical exhibits are on display. From spring through fall, Wehber’s Mill is one of the most popular destinations along the Mill Road and, as a family-run business, remains closely tied to local history.
