The experienced mudflat guides offer a variety of mudflat walks where you can experience the beauty and uniqueness of the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site. Together, you will discover the secrets of the mudflats and the impressive diversity of flora and fauna.

General information:
  • We recommend waterproof and windproof outerwear and headgear for your well-being.
  • You can choose between barefoot, trainers or mudflat shoes, socks or rubber boots in cold weather (except for the island hike).
  • It is advisable to bring spare clothes and provisions for the island hike.
  • Please note that children under the age of 8 are only allowed to take part in family hikes.
  • Persons with cardiovascular problems are unfortunately not allowed to take part in island tours.
  • People with walking impairments can take part in the mudflat hikes in a mudflat mobile by prior arrangement.
  • Dogs are only allowed on the dog hike.


Registration and meeting point:

  • Please note that registration is required for all mudflat hikes as the number of participants is limited.
  • You can register by telephone on 0152/ 53156946, either as an individual, in small groups of up to 10 people or in larger groups of 10 people or more.
  • The meeting point is on the seaward dyke, in the immediate vicinity of the "Upstalsboom" hotel.
  • Please note that the minimum number of participants is 10 people. If the tour has to be canceled, you will be contacted immediately.

Under the expert guidance of our mudflat guides, you will walk along the waterline and through tidal creeks to the bird sanctuary island of Minsener Oog. An unforgettable experience for adventurers of all ages.

The Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site and its many facets are explained in a vivid way by the mudflat guides.

Family hike - on the trail of Wadden Sea life
Children are the focus of this tour, during which they discover the Wadden Sea and its inhabitants in a playful way by looking, tasting and touching.

Family mudflat hike with dog - all are welcome
This is a mudflat hike for anyone who wants to take their well-tolerated dog on a lead. But everyone is also welcome without four-legged friends.

Wadflat studio for young and old - creativity in the mudflats
Who is tempted to artistically design the experiences and finds from the mudflat walk? You can develop your own creativity directly in nature with the materials of the sea and have professional help at your side. The mudflat studio only takes place after a hike "Mudflats for young and old" or "Mudflats for those in a hurry".
