Dike Bridge to Be Closed for a Total of Four Days in June

The Dike Bridge will be closed twice in June, for two days each time—specifically on June 2–3 and June 25–26, 2025.
First, the maintenance work originally scheduled for early April will now be carried out. On Wednesday and Thursday, June 25 and 26, 2025, as part of the scheduled inspection six months after the bridge’s reopening, officials will check to ensure that everything is running smoothly on the historic bridge. For this reason, the bridge will be closed on both days between 7 a.m. and approximately 8 p.m. Anyone traveling by car, on foot, or by bike can reach their destination during this time via either the Kaiser-Wilhelm Bridge or the Rüstringer Bridge. To avoid the detour, at least during the evening hours, the Deichbrücke will be open to traffic at night.
In addition, scheduled coating work will be carried out in early June in the area of the upstream pier; this work could not be completed before the Deichbrücke’s opening due to weather conditions. The work will take place on Monday and Tuesday, June 2 and 3, 2025. Since the bridge span must be opened for this purpose, the Deichbrücke will remain closed at night during these operations.
Vessel traffic will also be unable to pass over the Deichbrücke during both of these operations.
