Bockwindmühle auf der Insel in Stade
Old views of Stade show that several post mills were scattered along the outskirts of the city. They were gradually replaced by Dutch-style windmills. Thanks to the “house beam”—a characteristic feature of post mills that forms the support and the axis of rotation for the rectangular mill house—the entire structure can be turned “into the wind” either by hand or using a simple mechanical mechanism. The millstone is located in the upper part of the mill.

Die Bockwindmühle liegt am Rande der historischen Altstadt von Stade. Von der A26 der Ausschilderung Richtung Innenstadt folgen.
Parken
Parkmöglichkeiten im ca. 500 m entfernt liegenden Parkhaus (kostenpflichtig, sonntags nicht geöffnet) sind vorhanden.
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
Anreise mit dem Regionalzug aus Richtung Hamburg oder Cuxhaven möglich. Zusätzlich fährt aus Richtung Hamburg die S-Bahn-Linie 3 nach Stade. Die Bockwindmühle liegt einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Bahnhof entfernt. Contact person
